In addition to core grain industry experience, CMC has also gained considerable experience in the agri-products processing industries. While our traditional focus continues to be on the malting (for brewing) and animal feed industries, we now provide services for flour mills, pasta plants, and fruit and vegetables processing facilities. Feature Project: Feasibility Study for Establishing Agri Export Zones for Potato in Punjab

The Project
Punjab State and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) retained CMC Engineering for the preparation of a techno-economic feasibility study to develop agri export zones in various cities in the state of Punjab. The scope of work of the study included the following:
- A marketing study
- A technical feasibility study
- A financial feasibility analysis

- Develop various options for storage and processing facilities

- Identify partner for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement
- Investigate gender equity and EIA
Achievements
The project was completed in 2002, at which time Markfed entered into a PPP agreement with a private investor for the implementation of the project.
